Job Description

The role holder’s main objective is to manage the white product depot with a monthly throughput of over 4,000 m3 and LPG depot with a monthly throughput of over 350 tons of LPG and annual through put of 4,200 tones

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage the integrity of all assets in the depot and ensure good care and maintenance.
  • Verify dips of all tanks daily against closing physical stocks, receipts, and issues in respect of depot losses or gains.
  • Monitor quality, safety and environment in the depot.
  • Coordinate with engineering on depot equipment maintenances.
  • Liaise with the sales department for timely execution of orders.
  • Monitor the condition of transit and local delivery trucks through safe to load / offload checks.
  • Monitor depot and clerical operations according to Depot Operations Procedures and work instructions and generating Bulk reports.
  • Manage the human resources in the White product depot, LPG plant and Stock Consignment customers in Eastern Uganda.
  • Manage the administration of PETRO – stock control system.
  • Ensure that all relevant stock documents filed at the depots and copies sent to Stock officer.
  • Ensure consignment sites have sufficient good quality stock all the time.
  • Monitor LPG and consumers with stock consignment operations around Jinja.
  • Monitor losses in all consignment sites and advise on the way to reduce them.
  • Coordinate the sampling of all trucks delivering product to the depot to ensure good quality product is receipted.
  • Coordinate the monthly testing and sampling of all the main product storage tanks in the depot.
    Candidate Profile

Experience/Education required

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Excellent technical skills and an experience in Depot Management
  • At least 5 years proven experience in a busy working experience.
  • Management and supervisor ability.
  • Inter-personal and communication skills are a pre-requisite
  • Good knowledge of petroleum industry operations.
  • Excellent computer skills (Ms. Excel, Ms Word)

  • Consistent product shortages in the supply chain leading to long working hours in the depot
  • Delays in approval of orders for distribution resulting in long working hours
  • High staff turnover –hence constant training.
  • Job Holder must be willing to work for long hours in an unpredictable environment.
  • Working at heights during tank dipping.
  • Unkempt grass in the neighborhood of the LPG plant that attracts snakes
